Prior to the announcement of the Delhi elections, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari declared four new highway projects for Delhi and its surrounding regions, involving an investment of Rs 12,500 crores Targeting the congestion of traffic, air pollution and This will also reduce the burden of vehicles traveling from outside Delhi. He also declared the sanction of Rs 1,200 crore from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) for the national capital.
Although Nitin Gadkari's declarations of four new highway projects for Delhi were made a day after seven Delhi BJP MPs presented chese demands on them, among these projects, a tunnel from Shiv Murti towards Nelson Mandela Marg, had already been approved and preparatory work had began. After the state elections, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini initiated the discussion with Gadkari regarding the provision of connectivity from Urban Extension Road (UER) II to Delhi-Katra Expressway through KMP Expressway.

First Project: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claimed the 20-km link from UER-II to Delhi-Katra Expressway via the KMP expressway would cost roughly Rs 2,500 crore. For vehicles heading from J&K and Punjab towards IGI airport & Delhi- Mumbai Expressway.
The second project: A 17-kilometer-long access-controlled six-lane greenfield expressway connecting UER-II in Alipur to the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. This will provide direct access for vehicles traveling from Rajasthan and Haryana to Dehradun. The project will probably cost Rs 2,200 crore and is scheduled to be completed within two years.
The third project: The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin announced the construction of a 5 km tunnel linking Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj at an estimated cost of Rs 3,500 crore. The tunnel is projected to improve traffic in Mahipalpur and Rangpuri, as well as provide relaxation to travelers between Delhi and Gurugram."
Fourth project: A proposed plan for connecting the new highway to Noida will give Delhi-Dehradun transit a boost, costing Rs 4,400 crore across its 35-kilometer length. This road will serve as a bypass for east Delhi and, via Ghaziabad, will allow direct access to Noida for residents of north, north-west, and south-west Delhi.
Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari pointed out that the government has taken numerous measures that have reduced congestion in traffic and air pollution in Delhi, the nation's capital. Around Rs 60,000 crore in projects have been implemented in Delhi and the surrounding regions.
